Preludio 7- "La Alhambra"

"The Alhambra is an architectural treasure that seems to have been created by the gods themselves."
Washington Irving
The beauty of the Alhambra has always captivated me for its origin, its history, its mystique, and spirituality. These qualities make it a magical place to which I do not mind returning again and again. For me it is a meeting point and an absolute reference that helps me measure the passage of time and life each time I come back.
This Prelude 7: La Alhambra is not based on any program. It simply seeks to recreate the passage of time through it, its mysticism, and its beauty. The image that inspires us is very clear. Thus, the prelude is conceived from an overall sensation in which we try to crystallize in music all that beauty, all that history, and all that mysticism. You will notice how, at the beginning, the prelude subjects us to the echoes and reminiscences of Nasrid culture. Then the passage of time arrives, inexorably leading us to witness the grandiloquence, magnitude, and beauty of the Alhambra, as one who observes it from the Mirador de San Nicolás.

Preludio 11: "En el Arroyo"
This prelude is a tribute to the god of composition: Johann Sebastian Bach
"From his stream I drink. With my thirst sated, I follow its course, which marks my path." Álvaro Alvarado

In this prelude we delve into the wondrous, speculative world of counterpoint, in which our honoree was such a lofty and great master. One only needs to listen to it in light of these words from Bach himself:
"The final aim and reason of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul. Where this is not observed, there will be no music, but only a devilish hubbub."
