Concerto Grosso
Composed for string orchestra with harpsichord. It features a concertino of a string quartet plus harpsichord and the tutti. From this musical form, inspired by the concerto grosso of the Bolognese school of 1680, we set out to create a work that aims to be highly expressive and, together with technique, to transcend into the most hidden emotional states of the human being.
A piece of clear Baroque influence.

I-Obertura
French‑style overture endowed with great peace and solemnity, sweetness and hope, which contrasts with the energy and impetus of its central section thanks to the use of fugal language.

III-Zarabanda
A very sentimental and expressive dance of Spanish origin that carries us to the most extreme and conflicting passions in this movement, for we move swiftly from the most lyrical and expressive passages to a more impetuous and dreamlike language, like the sad waltz in the central section.

II-Maestoso
Brilliant, contrapuntal music that leans toward the concertato style and to contrasts between sound masses that gradually lead us to grandiloquent moments which contrast with others that are more intimate and introspective.

IV-Fugato
Brilliant, breathless, and intense finale owing to the movement’s brisk tempo and the use of fugal style. After a very frenetic journey with these materials, everything unravels in the final solemn coda.
